Davis Mountains and Chuhuahua desert to New Mexico

Headed north from Alpine into the Davis Mountains and even more beautiful scenery.

Had intended to continue north to Guadalope National Park but having discussed this idea with a gas station attendant I abandoned it. Fuel supplies MIGHT be OK but no guarantee at all.
Instead I hopped onto Interstate 10 going to New Mexico across the Chuhuahua desert.

Best part of 300 miles covered today but was glad to stop as the wind had got up. I've been riding into 20 MPH winds since I started but it was gusting up to 40 this afternoon. Riding Roci at an angle as I rode through the section warning of dust storms. Apparently visibility can get down to zero. Glad I missed that on a bike!
I'm now in Deming, poised for a drive into the mountains and desert to the north. Will be stopping at Silver City which sounds nice. Then a step closer to Nevada.
