What do people do for a living along this road? 60 miles of almost nothing. Yet to the side of the road there are single houses and small communities with no visible means of support. No farms that I could make out and no factories. There were signs occasionally warning drivers of cattle crossing so I guess it could be raising beef, but the pasture looks so poor I can't see it sustaining that number of cowboys.
Even when I Google the area there are no clues.
Tomorrow we have a long haul all the way to Ely and along the section of route 50 called the loneliest road. I think an early start is in order....
