Grand Junction to Gunnison

The fellowship parted their ways today. Rachael is just too nervous to continue on the bike. The wind and potential tornado season have proved too much for her. So Mark, Jayne and Jeremy headed south towards Durango, whilst eye continued rest on 50. We stopped at Gunnison so that we can cross the Rockies without a rush.

Went into town in the evening for dinner and found a fabulous restaurant called the Twisted Fork. They did great fusion food, a nice mix of Thai, Chinese, Korean and American. Vegetables! They had vegetables! We complimented the waitress and said we had never eaten so much meat since we got to America. "That's the USA for you!", she said.

Rachael said that if she were to live in the USA (pretty unlikely),  Gunnison is the sort of place she could manage. It's an old fashioned Western style town with a proper Main Street. It's quite like it too... You ski Crested Butte from here.
